The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) is the proud sponsor of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at our Regional Academic Health Center (RAHC) campus in Harlingen, Texas. Our program brings the substantial education and clinical resources of UTHSCSA to the residents of the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

The RAHC is a multisite academic community based in the cities of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. It includes Internal Medicine (IM); third and fourth year medical students education programs in Harlingen, a school of public health in Brownsville; and a medical research facility in Edinburg.

Our residency program maintain the high standards for training and medical care of the University of Texas system. Our educational program will prepare you to pursue any career choice, whether you choose primary care practice, fellowship training, or academic medicine. We also recognize that a well-rounded physician must balance challenging medical training with personal growth. Our residency program provides this necessary balance through one-on-one mentoring by supportive faculty, a humane training schedule, and the many recreational and multicultural opportunities in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
